Cyber Security and Information Systems Technical Area Tasks (CSTAT)is an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract that includes all Information Assurance, Software Data & Analysis, Modeling & Simulation, Knowledge Management, and/or
other IT related RDT&E and R&D Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS). CSTAT supports all aspects of identified or potential military, national security-related, and dual use applications of information technologies, as well as the development
of tools and techniques that enhance the mission of the DoD Research and Engineering community. IT is defined as any equipment, or interconnected system or subsystem of equipment that is used in the automatic acquisition, storage, manipulation, management,
movement, control, display, switching, interchange, transmission, or reception of data or information.

Information Assurance (IA): The Entire field of IA (availability, identification and authentication, confidentiality, integrity, and non-repudiation) and includes the economic considerations with respect to selection of IA techniques,
IA processes, and industry trends
Software Data & Analysis (SDA): Covers the entire field of software data and analysis procedures, statistical methods, and routines to support studies and conduct investigations of various software engineering technology issues
and topics or the assessment of state-of-the-art software engineering tools, technologies, and methods. In addition, assists with the installation, demonstration, test, and evaluation of new software and software engineering tools and techniques.
Modeling & Simulation (M&S): Includes modeling and simulation activities within the DoD, evaluated for potential use by DoD components, or developed outside of the DoD, including the commercial M&S and gaming industries,
which may have direct or indirect application to DoD M&S requirements.
Knowledge Management (KM) & Information Sharing (IS): covers the entire field of scientific, technical, and DoD-related SNIM conferences, symposia, workshops, and other meetings throughout the United States and internationally.
Including the technical coordination and information services required to support the various activities provided to the SNIM community.
